The stage was set for the World Premiere Screening of Katalina FilmWorks’ first documentary, “All Were Forgotten… And Then Came John” in Finestra Hall on the Campus of Bishop McDevitt High School. Since John Travers is a native son of Harrisburg and an alumnus of McDevitt, this was the perfect place to introduce this film to the world. Hosted by Katalina FilmWorks, this “Hollywood style” red carpet event was attended by celebrities, dignitaries, veterans, family and friends.

The audience of over 250 enjoyed a pre-show event that included a sumptuous dessert bar created by Two Gals Catering and music by Louis Lynch on the harp. Once seated in the magnificent Finestra Hall, all were entertained by a military Color Guard and the playing of the National Anthem (for which no one took a knee). Opening comments from Emcee, Dennis Owens, news anchor from WHTM abc27, and the film’s producer, Kathleen Torchia Travers preceded the screening.

The film ended with the theater still dark. A huge American flag was illuminated with the silhouette of a lone bugler, Robert Goodman, playing “Taps.” Lights then washed the apron of the stage for the presentation of the Field Cross Ceremony by the men and women of the 1st Cavalry Division Field Cross Detail, led by Sgt. Larry Carter and Carol Carter. They honored John by using his actual flight helmet on the cross. All but one spotlight was then dimmed, leaving it to shine down on the field cross as the sound of a lone Huey Helicopter flew overhead.
